2008-2010 years

  • On November 3, 2008, the management company Kazakhstan Communal Systems LLP was established.
  • The Group acquired control over 100% of the shares in Ontustik Zharyk Transit LLP and Karagandy Zharyk LLP with the aim of creating a vertically integrated energy company.
  • In 2010, the Group became a participant in Karaganda Energocenter LLP by making an additional contribution to the authorized capital and redistributing shares among the participants.

2011 year

  • Obtaining control over 100% of the shares in KaragandyZhyluSbyt LLP, Raschetny Servisny Tsentr LLP, Energopotok LLP and Ontustik Zharyk LLP with the aim of creating a vertically integrated energy company.
  • The decision to build a new power unit (boiler + turbine) with a capacity of 110 MW and 185 Gcal/h at Karaganda TPP-3.
  • Karagandy Zharyk LLP has put two new substations into operation.
  • Karagandy Zharyk LLP has implemented an automated control and accounting system (ACMS), stage 2.
  • Completed construction of 110 kV overhead line GRES-1 - TPP-2 "Karagandy Zharyk" LLP.
  • JSC Ontustik Zharyk Transit has implemented an automatic system of bases and consumers (ASBIP) in order to issue technical conditions for the fastest possible determination of connection points.
  • Signing of an EPC contract for the expansion of Karaganda TPP-3, installation of power unit No. 6.
  • Commissioning of new turbine No. 5 with a capacity of 120 MW.
  • Commissioning of cooling tower No. 4 of Karaganda Energy Center LLP.
  • Implementation by ASKUE company "Karagandy Zharyk" LLP, 3rd stage.

2012-2013 years

  • Construction of new ash dumps for dry waste storage at the CHPP-1 and CHPP-3 stations of Karaganda Energocenter LLP.
  • Construction substation (PS) "Zharyk" LLP "Karagandy Zharyk".
  • LLP "Ontustik Zharyk Transit" started construction of 110 kV substation "Severnaya" and substation "Nursat".

2014 year

  • Since 2013, the process of expanding Karaganda Energocenter TPP-3 has been underway by installing turbine No. 6 and boiler No. 8.
  • Karagandy Zharyk LLP put into operation the 220/110/10 kV Zharyk substation and the 110/35/6 kV Santekhnicheskaya-2 substation.
  • JSC Ontustik Zharyk Transit commissioned the Severnaya substation (2x40,000 kVA), built and modernized 10/0.4 kV networks, substations of various voltage classes.
  • The project “Construction of a wind power plant in South Kazakhstan region” has been initiated.

2015 year

  • In December, Ontustik Zharyk Tranzit LLC implemented an automated metering system (ASKUE) 10/0.4 kV, as a result of which 31 transformer substations and 3,740 consumers were connected in Turkestan in 2015.
  • JSC Ontustik Zharyk Tranzit designed, built and commissioned the closed-type 110/10–10 kV Nursat substation with an installed capacity of power transformers of 2x40 MVA.
  • Karagandy Zharyk LLP completed construction and commissioned the 220/110/35 kV Zharyk substation.
  • TOO Karagandy Zharyk built and commissioned the 110/35/10 kV substation Santekhnicheskaya-2, as well as the 110 kV overhead power line TEC-3 – Santekhnicheskaya-2 L – 1.3 km with the installation of AC-300 sq. mm. wire.
  • In order to diversify the Group’s activities through the development of alternative energy, on July 15, 2015, Vetropark Zhuzimdyk LLP was established, 100% of which belongs to KKS LLP.
  • At Karaganda TPP-3 of Karaganda Energocenter LLP, installation work has been completed to commission a new power unit with a capacity of 110 MW. A trial run of the unit at full capacity with unit-by-unit acceptance of equipment has been carried out, and a new fan cooling tower has been put into operation.

2016 year

  • Kazakhstan Communal Systems LLP acquired 6.54% of common shares of Mangistau Regional Electric Grid Company JSC.
  • At Karaganda TPP-3 of Karaganda Energocenter LLP, a new power unit was put into operation, including a turbine with an electric capacity of 110 MW and a steam boiler with a thermal capacity of 400 Gcal/h. Thanks to this, Karaganda TPP-3 has become the largest thermal power plant in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • In Shymkent, the closed-type 110/10 kV electrical substation "Nursat" was put into operation.

2017 year

  • Generating assets were acquired in the East Kazakhstan region: Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant and Sogrinsk Thermal Power Plant, with a total installed capacity of 447.5 MW.
  • 37.5% of shares of JSC Mangistau Regional Electricity Grid Company (MREK) were acquired from the total number of issued shares, and the total number of MREK shares in the KKS portfolio reached 43.73%.
  • At Karaganda CHPP-3, the first stage of the project to build up the dams of the 3rd section of ash dump No. 2 has been completed.
  • At the Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant, a project for the reconstruction of the existing ash dump has been completed, and the design of a new ash dump for storing ash and slag waste has begun.

2018 year

  • 6.77% of common shares of JSC MREK were acquired. The Group owns 50.19% of the outstanding shares of JSC MREK, the share of ownership of voting shares is 52.63%.
  • The deal for the sale of Sogrinskaya TPP LLC has been completed.
  • At Karaganda CHPP-3, the 2nd stage of the project to build up the dams of the 3rd section of ash dump No. 2 has been completed.
  • At Ust-Kamenogorsk TPP, the reconstruction project of the existing ash dump is at the completion stage, and construction of a new ash dump for storing ash and slag waste has begun.

2019 year

  • At Ust-Kamenogorsk TPP, the reconstruction of ash dump No. 3 was completed, for the first time in domestic practice using ash and slag waste in the dam body; construction of a new ash dump No. 5 was started; boiler unit No. 15 was modernized in order to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions; an automated process control system was implemented at boiler unit No. 15.
  • Ontustik Zharyk Tranzit LLP has begun construction of a closed 110/10-10 kV substation "Yassy" with a capacity of 2x40 MVA with 110 kV lines in the city of Turkestan with a plan to commission it in 2020.
  • At JSC "OZHT" an automated metering system has been implemented covering 12 high-voltage substations (for wholesale market entities), as well as 0.4 kV networks covering 3,940 subscribers in Shymkent (for retail market entities).
  • Karagandy Zharyk LLP completed the construction of the 110/10 kV Tikhonovka substation and the reconstruction of the 110 kV TEC-3 – Karaganda power transmission line, as well as the technical modernization of 6-35-110 kV equipment at nine substations: Novaya Dubovka, Karabas substation, Kyzyl substation, Fedorovka-2 substation, Astakhovka substation, Karbyshevka substation, Karaganda substation, Karagayly substation, Saran substation.
  • JSC Mangistau Regional Electric Grid Company has completed the construction of the 220 kV Aktau – Karazhanbas power transmission line with a 1x150 MVA autotransformer at the URPS-220/110/35/10 kV Karazhanbas;
  • The construction of a 110 kV power transmission line from the Uzen-220 kV substation to the 110/35/6 kV substation (length 18.7 km) with the replacement of a 1x40 MVA transformer has been completed.
  • A number of substations (9 units) and overhead power lines with a voltage of 35 kV and higher (180 km) were purchased.

2020 year

  • The construction of dams of the 3rd section of ash dump No. 2 of Karaganda TPP-3 has been completed.
