Our achievements
Karaganda Energocenter LLP
In 2023, Karaganda CHPP-1 and CHPP-3 of Karaganda Energocenter LLP generated over 4.292 billion kWh of electric energy and 3.1 million Gcal of thermal energy. There has been an increase in electric energy production over the past 10 years, which is due to the implementation of large-scale projects to expand the capacity of CHPP-3, where a new turbo unit and a power unit, including a boiler unit and a turbine, were put into operation between 2012 and 2016. Taking into account the commissioning of new equipment, Karaganda CHPP-3 reached an electric capacity of 670 MW, and a thermal capacity of 1432 Gcal / h.
In 2023, Karaganda Energocenter LLP:
The construction of ash disposal site No. 3 of Karaganda CHPP-3 was completed;
As part of the construction of the third heat outlet of the city of Karaganda, the implementation of the 1st stage of the project "Reconstruction of process pipelines of CHPP-3" has begun;
The investment program of Karaganda Energocenter LLP for the type of activity "heat energy production", approved for the period 2021-2026, has been implemented;
Major repairs of equipment have been completed:
at CHPP-3: boiler units BKZ-420-140-5 st. No. 3, 5 and turbo units T-110/120-130 st. No. 4, T-120/140-130/12.8 st. No. 5;

Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP LLP
Ust-Kamenogorsk TPP LLP is a combined heat and power plant located in the east of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. It is the largest thermal power plant in the region.
The production of heat and electricity, which is the main activity of the enterprise, is carried out in a combined manner. To date, the station has 9 boiler units and 8 turbo units. The thermal energy generated by the station covers more than 80% of the load of the city's housing and communal sector. It provides heat energy to the largest industrial enterprises in the region.
One of the major investment projects of 2013-2016 was the construction of turbo unit st. No. 12. The investment volume for the installation of the new turbine amounted to 11 billion 484 million tenge.
The project for the construction and commissioning of the new turbo unit st. No. 12 made it possible to achieve the following goals:
meeting the increased needs of consumers for the supply of electrical energy;
Providing production electric capacity with efficient modern process equipment;
Additional generation of electricity by the cogeneration cycle;
Increasing the efficiency of the station by using excess high-pressure steam by means of a steam turbine, as well as by using steam obtained as a result of controlled extractions for supplying process steam and heating the city (cogeneration), instead of reducing steam in reduction and cooling units (RCU). The new turbine with a capacity of 120 MW generates about 800 million kWh per year.
The implementation of the project significantly increased the efficiency and reliability of the station. The new turbo unit has an air-cooled generator instead of hydrogen-air, which improved fire safety. The operator can control the turbo unit using modern automatic systems; to exclude the development of an emergency situation, a modern microprocessor protection system and a vibration monitoring system for the turbo unit were installed.
In recent years, the company has significantly increased its expenses on investment activities. In 2021-2023, UKTEC implemented a number of measures to reconstruct and modernize equipment in order to obtain positive results, the main ones being the following:
- The construction of ash disposal site No. 5 was completed.
- The project for replacing the main steam pipelines of 140 ata was developed.
- The project for replacing the main steam pipelines of 140 ata was implemented (stage 1).
- The high-pressure feed pipelines of stages 5-7 were replaced.
- A major overhaul of boiler unit No. 14 was completed with the replacement of water-lowering pipes.
