On August 9, a memorandum of understanding between Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP and the Japanese company Komaihaltec Inc. was concluded at the Palace of Independence.

The parties intend to implement a project to introduce renewable energy sources. The first stage will be the conduct of joint research and a pilot project in the Turkestan region.

Within the framework of the C5 + Japan business forum, Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japanese company Komaihaltec Inc. The historical document marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of renewable energy sources (RES) in Kazakhstan.

The signing ceremony was attended by the General Director of Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP, which is part of the Ordabasy Group project group, Sabyrgali Idrisov and the Managing Executive Director of Komaihaltec Inc Amy Komai. The conclusion of the document took place with the support of the national company Kazakh Invest, which conducts investment activities and provides support for investment projects in the country.

In accordance with the agreements reached, the parties will begin to study the joint implementation of a project for the introduction of renewable energy sources, including wind turbines produced by Komaihaltec Inc.

The first stage of the pilot Project is to conduct a preliminary feasibility study and develop a roadmap for the development of renewable energy sources in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan has approved the Strategy for the transition to a low-carbon economy and achievement of climate neutrality by 2060. Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP, as one of the leading energy companies in the country, adheres to the principles of reducing its carbon footprint and plans projects in the field of renewable energy and gas generation.

The Japanese company Komaihaltec Inc., which has significant experience in the production of equipment for renewable energy sources, the implementation of hybrid power generating systems and autonomous power supply systems, will become a key partner in the implementation of green energy projects.
Joint cooperation on research into renewable energy systems will contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the development of autonomous energy supply in Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the concluded memorandum, each party will create a working group for further implementation of the project.

“The cooperation expands opportunities for Kazakhstan by providing access to advanced technologies and international experience in the field of renewable energy. Partnership with Komaihaltec Inc will allow us to implement advanced solutions in the field of renewable energy sources and ensure sustainable development of the country's energy infrastructure. We are proud to be part of this historic signing. I am confident that joint efforts with Japanese partners will lead to significant results,” Sabyrgali Idrisov noted.

We would like to remind you that earlier the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of low-carbon development and interaction within the framework of the energy transition.

After concluding the memorandum and completing the C5+Japan business forum, each of the parties expressed their readiness for fruitful cooperation and confidence in the success of the joint initiative. The introduction of renewable energy sources will significantly reduce carbon emissions and create a sustainable energy system. This is an important step towards achieving climate neutrality and sustainable development of the energy infrastructure of Kazakhstan.
